Hortense

Hortense is born from a careful selection of the estate’s highest and most suitable plots. These elevated vineyards give rise to a wine of remarkable depth, tension, and character. Its structure is well-defined yet never excessive; its signature lies in a natural salinity and Mediterranean restraint that return with consistency in every vintage.

CLIMATE

2021 in Bolgheri unfolded with a balanced and classic climate, cooler spring temperatures, a steady summer without excess heat, and well-timed rainfall that supported slow, even ripening. In Hortense 2021, this results in a wine of composed elegance, with deep aromatic expression, layered tannins, and a seamless structure. The moderate conditions allowed for great finesse and aromatic purity, giving the wine a measured power and long aging potential.

TASTING NOTES

Hortense 2021 opens with poised concentration, revealing a darker aromatic profile shaped by steady ripening and a classic vintage rhythm. The nose offers dense red and black fruit, followed by herbal depth, gentian, liquorice, and a restrained bitterness of rhubarb, all woven into a landscape of Mediterranean underbrush. There is no excess here, only measured intensity and clarity. On the palate, the wine moves with elegance and quiet force, its fine tannins carrying a savoury, bittersweet core that expands gently across the tongue. The finish is vivid and saline, marked by a persistent freshness and the impression of cistus, myrtle, and sea air carried inland.

Harte

More austere than expansive, Harte is our clearest and most essential reading of the inland landscape: precise, composed, and deeply rooted in place.

Clinio

Clinio is our most immediate interpretation of the territory: essential, expressive, and unmistakably Mediterranean.
